Maintenance and Tips

This section of our website gives you all the tips you need so you can enjoy your investment as long as possible.

Acrylic Fabric

To maximize the time use of your acrylic fabric, you must remove it during the winter season. Before storing it, it must be vacuumed to remove dirt and help it from creating spots. Once reinstalled during spring time, we recommend you to clean the fabric with mild solvent free soap, diluted in warm water. It is also recommended not to close the awning while the fabric is wet.

After 5 years, we recommend a full deep cleaning of your fabric and waterproofing. We will also inspect your canvas and its seams

Vinyl Fabric

To clean your fabric, it is recommended to use a solvent free mild soap diluted in lukewarm water. It is strongly recommended not to use abrasive products, such as VIM or AJAX, which would effectively remove the protective lacquer on the surface of the fabric. You can find on our website, or in our stores, products that are specifically designed to clean this type of fabric.
If you need to remove and store the fabric, please do not fold it. It is best to roll it into itself.

Mechanisms and motor

You can clean the distant sections of the mechanisms with a damp cloth. Avoid touching the lubricated components. We recommend that you refer to the instruction manual for the maintenance of your equipment.

Winter Shelters

At the end of the season, before storing your winter shelter, it is recommended to clean the fabric with a solvent free mild soap diluted in lukewarm water. It is strongly recommended not to use abrasive products, such as VIM or AJAX, which would effectively remove the protective lacquer on the surface of the fabric. It is also recommended not to use a high pressured water jet that could tear the fabric up or cause fabric delamination. Specific cleaning products for this type of fabric can be bought through our website or in our stores.

Accumulations of snow on top of the shelter should be removed as soon as possible during winter time.

Furniture

A damped cloth and mild soap is all you need to clean your outdoor furniture. We recommend that you refer to the manual for maintenance of your furniture.

Screens

At the end of the season, before storage, it is recommended to clean the screens with a solvent free mild soap diluted in lukewarm water. It is strongly recommended that abrasive cleansers, such as VIM or AJAX are not used. It is also recommended not to use a high pressured water jet that could tear up the net.
